Eric G. Shmookler graduated from Kingsborough Community College with a dual degree in biology and applied mathematics. He attended dental school at New York University and graduated with a D.M.D. in 1996. During dental school summers, Dr. Shmookler worked at National Institute of Health (NIH) as a Commissioned Student Intern doing research on the use of cytokines and modulating factors in enamel durability in clinical dentistry (1996). In 1997, Eric Shmookler worked at the Public Health Institute in Queens, Long Island as a clinical dentist. From 1998-2000 he did a General Practice Residency working in the Public Health Hospital in Oswego, New York.

As an associate in a dental practice, Dr. Eric G. Shmookler then moved his employment to Fremont from 2002 to 2004. In 2004, Dr. Shmookler opened his own dental practice in Santa Rosa, California. Dr. Shmookler is currently a registered member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and New York Dental Association, Dr. Eric Shmookler lives with his wife and their three children. His hobbies include collecting miniatures and figurines, prospecting gemstones, and cultivating lilacs and hydrangeas in a custom built greenhouse that is part of their family estate.
